Community Outreach

Service is at the core of who we are

Our team members donate at least 20 hours of their time each year to a range of bicycle related causes that improve our community. In fact, no other cycling organization in Nebraska devotes more hours to community service.

Our dozens of active club members donate over 1,000 hours every year to great causes that support local athletes and promote a healthy, active lifestyle within the community.

Free Bikes for Kids

Free bikes for kids aims to provide children with bicycles at no cost. The goal is to promote physical activity, independence, and outdoor play, while ensuring that kids from low-income families have access to bikes.

This work helps improve children’s well-being and encourage environmental sustainability by reducing dependence on cars.

Aksarben Farmer’s Market Bike Corral

We’re pleased to provide guidance, equipment, and financial support to young racers. Harvest juniors have gone on to race at the national and international level.

Junior Cyclist development

Every weekend during the summer our volunteers staff the bike corral at the Aksarben Farmer’s Market in Omaha.

This provides safe, designated spaces for bike parking, promotes cycling, and encourages environmentally friendly transportation in a busy urban area.
